A group of families who come to Southside’s Twerton Community Hub Group came together on Saturday 20th June and cycled from Meade House in Twerton to Wellow and back, 18 miles in total.
Thanks to Becca and Ben and their children, Esmae and Noah; Becky and Bradley and their children, Kacie and Amelia, who took part in the cycle ride along with other family members and friends.
They collected sponsorship and raised over £800 to support the local group that they love being a part of, with lots of arts and play activities for the children, inside and outside, time for parents to catch up with and support each other, nutritious food to enjoy together, and support available from Southside’s Group Coordinator when needed.
Their ambitious route took them through the two tunnels into the countryside to Wellow, where they enjoyed refreshments before heading back to Twerton.
Penny, Lucy and Pat from Southside set them off from Meade House with a birthday cake for Noah. Penny, Southside’s CEO, said “We’re so impressed by the children, Mums and Dads’ enthusiasm and energy to raise so much in sponsorship, organise and enjoy this cycle challenge. I loved seeing the Dads leading the way and supporting their families.”
