Family Support and Play Service

Southside delivers the Family Support and Play Service for Bath and North East Somerset Council.

The Family Support and Play Service (FSPS) provides holistic, inclusive and community-based whole family support for children, young people and their parent/carers at risk of experiencing poor social, health and wellbeing outcomes through a trauma informed and therapeutic approach.

Children, young people and their families are at the heart of our service. Southside provides early support before things get worse.

We build on the strengths, capabilities and resilience of families and communities, supporting individuals to take responsibility and help themselves as they progress through the service, following our clear pathway:

“When I first met the lady from Southside I felt hopeless, just seen as a victim. Counselling has helped me to understand that I can cope, that I am not a failure.”
