Family Support

Access Support

Our Family Support services can be accessed by families living in Bath and North East Somerset who have children aged between 5 to 19 years old living with them, and are at a point where they feel ready to make changes.

You and your family, or the family you are requesting support for, must answer ‘yes’ to at least four of the ten priority group questions below to qualify for support from the Family Support & Play Service.

  1. Family affected by trauma e.g. Adverse Childhood Experiences.
  2. Family affected by domestic abuse.
  3. Family Relationship difficulties.
  4. Physical health difficulties.
  5. Mental health difficulties.
  6. Family affected by substance misuse.
  7. Education or SEN needs.
  8. Risk of abuse or exploitation:
    (A child or young person where there is a risk of neglect or emotionally, physically, sexually abuse? Child at risk of pre-criminal activity/exploitation? County Lines? Radicalisation? Child experience harm form bullying/on-line harassment/ sexual harassment?)
  9. Family member at risk of offending behaviour, past or present:
    (A child / young person at risk of crime including gangs, large groups, serious violence, and weapon carrying, or involved in harmful risk-taking behaviour. Parent involved with crime or criminal activity)
  10. Financial instability.

If you would like to access support for you and your family, you can call us during office hours on 01225 331243, and a member of our Business Support team will be able to take a self-referral over the phone.

If you are a professional who would like to refer a family you are supporting, you can do so by completing our FSPS Referral Form.

We encourage you to call our office and ask to speak to a Family Support Manager should you wish to discuss the referral with a member of the team before completing the form.

Completed referrals should be returned securely to enquiries@south-side.org.uk. Please ensure that you password protect the referral form before sending it over to us, then call our office to pass the credentials onto a member of the Business Support team.
