Queen Esoteric Fundraiser for Southside

8 December 2025

Amazing vibes and fantastic auction deals were the order of the evening at a stunning fundraiser recently organised by entrepreneurial makeup artist Queen Esoteric in support of Southside.

“I just wanted to give something back,” said her majesty (aka Chanel Hill). “Southside’s services have been so important for me, and for many of my friends. Without them, I might not be here talking to you today.”

A whole universe of amazing prizes was auctioned on the night with the help of TV’s Bob Crampton, including treatments, products, and expertise featuring that unique Queen Esoteric touch – as well as the partners, customers and colleagues in her local network. The hall was abuzz with good vibes as guests snapped up bargains ahead of Christmas.

“It’s great fun to do this kind of thing,” Chanel added. “Having the support of the local community, the businesses and enterprises we work with day in and day out, as well as our friends who use these services, is really brilliant.”

The energetic makeup artist, whose treatments and techniques have caused such a stir in her community, gathered a lively crowd at Keynsham Rugby Club for the event, which raised a phenomenal £2,000 for Southside’s vital services.

“It’s great to have had the support of so many people who understand how difficult it is to maintain the kind of services that help people in our situations not only survive, but thrive,” Chanel said. “It’s a tough time for everyone out there – and I’m super proud of my community for stepping up and getting involved.”

Chanel wasn’t the only one expressing gratitude for Southside’s impact. Steve, a father who attended the event, shared a heartfelt story about how the charity had helped his daughter escape domestic abuse.

“It was all I could do to stop myself taking the law into my own hands,” he said. “Without Southside’s professional intervention, the whole cycle of violence might have kept going. Who knows what could have happened?”

Lucy Fordham, Operations Director at Southside, said that this event highlighted the power of community-driven support.

“Events like Chanel’s just go to show the kind of impact Southside can have with the right kind of targeted services,” Lucy said. “It’s truly gratifying to see something like this come together. They are driven by people who have used our services, showing that not only can we help people out of difficult situations, but they can go on to empower themselves and others to make positive change.”
