Southside families enjoyed a memorable day at the Holburne Museum on Thursday 2nd June, at our Platinum Party that we organised in partnership with the Carers’ Centre and The Holburne’s Pathways to Wellbeing project. We arranged coaches to enable families from our Community Hub Groups in Bath and North East Somerset to travel in for this special event, and back at the end of the day.
Over 260 people came together on this day full of sunshine, and enjoyed a wide range of creative activities with local artists: making jubilee bunting, large clay commemorative coins, regal crown and capes, jubilee celebration cake hats, decorating miniature boxes, and designing large jubilee stamps!
Southside’s Hub Group Chef, Dan, and our team prepared a delicious lunch with a BBQ, salads and cakes. Families also had free access to the Holburne Museum to enjoy the exhibitions, and a museum trail, taking in both exhibits in the Holburne and exploring Sydney Gardens, including the wonderful new children’s play area.
This special event was funded through Arts Council England’s Let’s Create Jubilee Fund, managed by Quartet Community Foundation. Many thanks to everyone involved in making this Platinum Party possible, we look forward to working together again!
