Christmas 2021 Update

17 December 2021

Southside’s offices will be closed from 3pm on 23rd December until 9am on 4th January 2022. We will however be actioning high risk domestic abuse referrals from the Daily Incident Review Meeting with Children’s Social Care and the Police on Wednesday 29th, Thursday 30th, and Friday 31st December.

This has been a difficult time for us all, and our amazing staff and volunteer team will be taking a much-needed break at the end of the year. At Southside, we ensure that our team are supported and cared for, and are very grateful to them all for their continued hard work and commitment throughout 2021.

Southside has continued to provide support for children, young people and families through the Covid-19 crisis, working safely within the restrictions. We have restarted face-to-face services where possible, alongside direct support online, by phone and remotely, for families and people affected by domestic abuse and other challenges. Through our crisis support, we have helped victims and their children to leave and find safety and access the support they need.

Our support for isolated families throughout Bath and North East Somerset this year included specialist whole family support and our Food Pantries and Family Food Hub Groups to enable families to access food supplies and nutritious meals, cooked freshly by Dan, our professional chef.

We look forward to restarting all our support services and groups in early January to ensure that individuals and families can access the care and support they need.
